The Importance of “Intention” and “Conscious Living”
Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008“Any act performed with Intention becomes a Rite. We can take a bath with no more in mind than Physical Cleanliness: In which case the Bath will cleanse our bodies and no more. Or we can take a Bath with a view of Ritual Cleanliness, in which case it efficacy will extend beyond the Physical Plane.”
This quote from Diane Fortune’s book, Psychic Self-Defense, provides a simple example of how each one of us can become individual “Transformers” in our Community, and also in Society at large. By simply beginning to live more consciously, performing the simple acts of our daily lives with “Focus” and “Intention,” magical things will have room to occur. In conjunction with a sense of Caring for and connecting with the Natural World, and with other Humans, this kind of “Conscious Living” is a simple recipe for Positive Change. If this kind of positive action were magnified by millions of people in the Global Community, this is a way to help improve the lives of everyone. This is the true meaning of the old saying, “Charity begins at Home.”
