Elliott Maynard was asked to be a part of the December 26, 2006 Coast-to-Coast Radio Show by “Fastwalkers” Documentary Producer, Robert Miles and the other members of their team. This show went out over the AM airwaves to over 10 million listeners the USA and other countries of the world. Elliott’s segment highlighted the fact that leading scientists in the world are in agreement that we are now in a state of “Global Emergency,” and all need to work together to change the present mindset, and start working collaboratively to develop new clean-energy technologies as well as an entirely new Protocol for meaningful action. It is important in the New Year 2007 that we all work together to find new ways to achieve world peace and stability within a win-win context for all parties concerned. The new paradigm of “Exopolitics” and a concerted effort to break the 60-year-old “Truth Embargo” offers us new hope in fields of Clean-Energy Technology, Space Propulsion Systems, new Medical an Antiaging Technologies, and an entirely new perspective of the place of Humans in the Universe. Sharon and I would like to wish everyone everywhere on Earth a New Year 2007 filled with the hope for resolution of existing conflicts, and an abundance of new and transformative programs for a better future for us all. Within this wish for Universal Peace and Understanding, we would like to quote the Official Statement placed by President Jimmy Carter on June 16, 1977 on the Voyager Spacecrarft prior to its historically unprecidented trip outside out Solar System:

“We cast this message into the Cosmos…Of the 200 billion stars in the Milky Way Galaxy, some - perhaps many - may have planets and space-faring civilizations. If one such civilization intercepts Voyager and can understand these recorded contents, here is our message: We are trying to survive our time so we may live into yours. We hope some day, having solved the problems we face, to join a community of Galactic Civilizations. This record represents our hope and our determination and our goodwill in a vast and awesome Universe.”

While attending the World Premier of the Documentary Film “Fastwalkers” on December 13 in Show Low, Arizona, Dr. Maynard was privileged to be interviewed by radio talk show host, Kevin Smith on the subject of Global Climate Change, its efffect on the general population, and what we might do as citizens of the “global commons” to take meaningful action. Although I had not met Kevin previously, he proved to be a most gracious host, and was very well informed in terms of depth and breadth of the subject. Kevin’s style was refreshingly direct, and very supportive. He is a master facilitator, who is exceptionally skilled at bringing out the best from his talk show hosts. Within this context I would like to thank Kevin for his sincerity, interest, and support as we discussed some of the new paradigms Arcos Cielos has developed over the years with regard to establishing a new relationship between Humans and the Global Biosphere on Spaceship Earth. “In 50 years of world service with the United Nations, I have come to consider the birth of Planetary Consciousness, together with the creation of global institutions and the convening of world conferences, the major hopes for enabling humanity to cope with the acute problems facing us. In view of the current resistance, slowness, if not opposition of many governments to act on the various intergovernmental agreements on the environment, and being a member of the Club of Budapest, I consider it my duty to make the following recommendations:

1. To declare a State of Emergency of the Earth.

2. To consider the present situation as an outright war: a World War III against Nature and its elements, a war that must now end.

3. To request a Second World Conference on the Biosphere, 30 years after the first one in 1978, to ascertain the state of the Biosphere today.

4. To support the extension to other countries of the World Party of Natural Law already existing in 85 countries at the initiative of British scientists.

5. To place our weight behind a radical change in the political system of our Planet, a system that currently provides services and financial resources to heal communities, cities, provinces and nations, but leaves the Earth and the Human family almost entirely without adequate services and financial resources at a time when these are most urgently needed.

6. In view of the chaos of the nation-state system and its colossal duplication of services and their financial costs (e.g., the national military establishments), to urgently agree on the absolute and imperative necessity to create, whether sooner or later but unavoidably, a Proper Earth Government in the form of a Federal Government, or a United States of the World, or of a Union based on the model of the European Union of five continental Unions with a global superstructure, or of a government patterned on bioregional or bio-organizational models suggested by Nature herself.
In the absence of such initiatives, we are likely to see the disappearance of most life forms, including human life, from this planet in the course of the twenty-first century.”
