Be a “Change Agent” for a Better World; Just Do It!

Monday, July 30th, 2007

If you are weary of the daily focus on Negativity and debacle de jour reporting of our syndicated News Media, tired of the endless focus on Human Conflict, and tired of the new wave of natural disasters which are a result of Global Climate Changes, there IS something you may wish to do.

A Group which calls itself “Invincible America” is working together to provide some positive energy in the form of non-denominational Group Meditation (i.e. Coherent Consciousness), in an effort to exert a positive influence on America’s Economy, mitigate the effects of the Natural Disasters, help establish a firm basis for World Peace, and generally create a more positive mIndset in America and the World.

The group is headed up by Physicist, John Hagelin, and, while based on the principles of Transcendental Meditation, it is non-denominational, non-political, and non-religious. It simply involves a group of like-minded individuals who are fed up with rhetoric, and have decided to work together to effect positive change. The Idea is simple: “Let’s work together to make the world a better place.” and “Just do it.” To read the full article, CLICK HERE.

An Electrical Power Plant in Your Home

Friday, July 27th, 2007

With conventional Heating or Cooling Systems two-thirds of the Energy is normally lost as Waste Heat. Recently, a new Combined Heat and Power System (CHP) can utilize up to 90 percent of the Fossil fuel generated energy from your furnace or air conditioner by simultaneously generating Heat or Electricity on site, thus reducing energy consumption and energy bills. These types of systems are already in use in Denmark and the Netherlands in Hospitals, University Campuses, and Petrochemical Factories. Only recently, however, Has the technology evolved to the point where it can be utilized in individual home units. After gaining a foothold in Europe and Japan, the technology now appears to be ready to break into the lucrative US Market.

A Massachusetts-based Company, Climate Energy is presently testing a 1.2 KW System in 25 US homes, and hopes to market several hundred units later this year. To read the full article, CLICK HERE.

New Survival Mechanism for Coral Reefs Discovered

Friday, July 13th, 2007

Scientists have discovered that Corals in the Great Barrier Reef may have a “Back-Up Mechanism” to help prevent Coral Bleaching, and thus insure their survival during periods of Global Climate Change.

Since the 1980’s the world’s coral reefs have suffered extensive damage from a condition called “Coral Bleaching,” where the symbiotic algae which lives in the tissues of coral organisms, has been killed off, weakening the coral, which has then suffered subsequent mass die-offs. The algae normally, in exchange for being sheltered by the host corals, manufacture nutrients through the process of photosynthesis, which in turn provide nutrition for the corals. Recently, Australian scientists have discovered that certain species of corals on the Great Barrier Reef have the ability to host several different species of algae, as dictated by surrounding water temperatures, which may be one of the keys to the long-term survival of Coral Reefs through past periods of climate fluctuation.
