Leaders from six different nations have agreed to work together to save Southeast Asia’s massive Coral Triangle, which is considered to be the world’s richest Underwater Wilderness.

Leaders of East Timor, Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, the Phillipines and Solomon Islands signed agreements to expand Marine Sanctuaries and No-Fishing Zones during recent talks in Indonesia. The new Coral Triangle Initiative calls for stronger international cooperation to combat illegal fishing and environmental destruction in an area that equals half the size of the United States, and is home to half the world’s coral reefs.

According to Indonesian President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, “The Coral Triangle is a Globally Recognized Treasure. It is unique, there is nothing like it on Earth.” He also stated that the area had been compared to the Amazon Rainforest in terms of its biological diversity. To read the full article CLICK HERE.

Following the Millennium Development Goals Awards Ceremony at the United Nations General Assembly in New York on March 17, 2009, Dr. Maynard was interviewed by Alan Steinfeld, Director of New Realities TV. The Naica Mine in Chihuahua Mexico is a working mine known for its extraordinary crystals. This mine is a Lead, Zinc, and Silver mine with large empty spaces containing large crystals of Selinite as large as four feet in diameter and up to 50 feet long. The chamber containing these crystals is known as the “Crystal Cave of Giants.” A similar large chamber was also discovered at a depth of 400 feet is called “The Cave of Swords.” Due to the incredible crystals there it was decided to preserve this cave, which appears to be like an underwater reef moving in a gentle undulating ocean current.
